Workshop

Circular business models for plastics aim to create new products from recycled plastic waste that have high quality, value, and demand. To achieve this goal, it is important to implement research and analyze the performance, properties, and potential of recycled plastic materials. This requires collaboration among different stakeholders, such as plastic producers, users, recyclers, researchers, and policymakers.

To implement research and analyze recycled plastic, some of the key steps are:

  • Design or redesign plastic products to be recyclable and compatible with existing recycling technologies and methods.
  • Develop novel recycling technologies and methods that can improve the quality, efficiency, and profitability of plastic recycling.
  • Evaluate the environmental impacts and benefits of different recycling options and compare them with conventional plastic production.

  • Investigate the consumer behaviour and preferences regarding recycled plastic products and identify the best strategies to increase the market demand and value of recycled plastic.
  • Establish supportive legislation and industry standards that can facilitate the collection, sorting, and processing of plastic waste and promote the use of recycled plastic materials.
